Aight, so it's been like a decade since the last update. My bad. I suck. What do you want me to say?

Project 1999 was hella fun. But inevitably, it had to peter out at some point. We're in a new era now where it's hard to keep our interest. And by "our" I mean "my." I still think P99 was by far one of the best things that's come our way since... well, 1999. But let's be honest here. The old world of EQ gets a bit stagnant after a while with no expansions, and there is a TON of other stuff out there to draw our attention away nowadays. That wasn't the case in 1999. EQ was it. Unless you wanted to play Asheron's Call or Ultima Online. And then you were just weird.

I guess my main reason for quitting P99 was because there are no guarantees. Sean "Rogean" is a friend of mine, and I know he and the team are committed to the game, but still... we all know how life changes rapidly without warning, and I just couldn't see myself getting deep into a game that could disappear at a moment's notice. Not that it will, but it's always a risk with a private project.

So what has been filling my time? The usual suspects of LotRO, EQ2, WoW and various betas. But with Guild Wars 2 on the horizon I decided it's high time I check it out and get to know it. I couldn't have made a better choice.

This is not your typical MMOG. Sure, it has all the elements that make a good MMO, but it's got so many quirks of its own that it really stands out as its own beast. I like it. A lot.

When I posted in our forums that I was checking it out I expected little to no response. I play a lot of games, and I switch games weekly. But the response has actually surprised me. Seems many of you own and love the game too. So it wasn't hard to decide that I'll be dedicating a lot of my time to this game over the next few months.

I'll still be playing EQ2 and some other stuff on the side, as I'm inclined to do, but Guild Wars has now officially made its way into my regular play schedule. It's fantastic, and I can't wait to uncover more of it. As always, if you wanna join, visit the forums and post and we'll get you hooked up.

See yas in GW!
